Earl Friedman Oratorical Contest

Contest date: Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 10:00 AM contest start
(arrive no later than 9:45 AM to register)
Contest Location: Jon Grant Community Center,
29260 Grand River, Farmington Hills, MI 48336
(north side of Grand River, east of Middlebelt – at east side of fire station)
Depending on number of registrations, we will hold separate girls’ and boys’ contests in sequence. Contest order and speaking order will be determined by lot at the time of the contests.
The contestants and their family members or guests are welcome to attend the contest.
Light refreshments will be served.
Title/Topic: “Where are My Roots of Optimism?”
Length of Speech: The speech must be at least four minutes but not more than five minutes to avoid penalty points.
Age Qualification: The contest is open to students under the age of 18 as of October 1st, 2018. There is no minimum age limit. A copy of the contestant’s birth certificate or passport must be submitted at the time of the contest.
Prizes: Medallions and monetary prizes will be given to the winner
(first, second, and third place).
Certificates of participation will be given to all contestants.
Further (next level) Competition: Only one contest winner (either a girl or a boy) will be selected by the judges to represent the club at the next level of competition.
