The Farmington Area PTA Council mission is to be advocates for children by strengthening local PTAs, by impacting decisions on relevant issues at the local, state and national level, and by providing a forum for leadership development, information exchange, discussion and action on issues affecting youth and children.

The Farmington/Farmington Hills Optimists provide hope and positive vision, bringing out the best in youth, their communities, and themselves. Within Farmington Public Schools they have Junior Optimist Clubs that provide leadership training through community service.

 Farmington Youth Assistance is a 501c3 dedicated to strengthening youth and families through community involvement and is sponsored by the Cities of Farmington and Farmington Hills, Farmington Public Schools, and Oakland County Circuit Court - Family Division.
