Special Optimist Club / Junior Optimist Club Kids Fishing Program

What: A program developed at Michigan State University to teach children about fishing through classroom learning and hands-on experience.

Who:  Boys & Girls 5-11 years old

What's included: Rod & Reel, Tackle Box, 1-hour of classroom instruction, 1-hour of fishing in a stocked pond (catch & release), light snack.

Cost:  $15 per child.

Where:  Carpenter Lake Park, 10 Mile Road, Southfield, MI (just west of Inkster Road).
