Title/Topic: “How to Change the World with Optimism”
Length of Speech: The speech must be at least four minutes but not more than five minutes to avoid penalty points.
Age Qualification: The contest is open to contestants under the age of 19 as of October 1st of the current Optimist International contest year (October 1-September 30) and who have not yet completed secondary school or its equivalent. There is no minimum age limit. A copy of the contestant’s birth certificate or passport must be submitted at the time of the contest.
Prizes: Medallions and monetary prizes will be given to the winner (first-, second- and third- place). Certificates of participation will be given to all contestants.
Further (next level) competition: Only one contest winner will be selected by the judges to represent the club at the next level of competition.
Contestants and family members or guests are welcome to attend the contest. A light breakfast will be served.
